Everything is available in English and Czech. The English pages aren't word-for-word translations; we write them for what people actually search for in English.

How we write

1. Every factual claim has a source. We rely on the RHS (Royal Horticultural Society), Missouri Botanical Garden, the ASPCA, NC State Extension, University of Florida IFAS, NParks Flora & Fauna Web, Kew's Plants of the World Online, and other university extension services. Growers such as Costa Farms are a secondary source only. We don't treat blogs or online shops as sources.
2. We open and check every source link to make sure it actually supports the claim. If we can't back something up, we don't publish it.
3. Pet toxicity comes from the ASPCA. When the ASPCA doesn't cover a plant, we cite a university source and say so. We never call a plant pet-safe without a source.
4. No made-up numbers. We don't quote plant prices in dollars, and we give temperatures and watering as ranges from our sources. If a source doesn't give an ideal temperature, we leave it blank.
5. Botanical names follow Plants of the World Online (Kew), with the older name when it's still widely used.

You'll find the sources for every article right below it, and for plants in the fact card as well.

How our content is made

We draft our articles with the help of AI, following the rules above. An AI draft is never the finished article: we check the sources, fix or remove anything we can't support, and leave values blank when a source doesn't give them.

The plant illustrations in the atlas are drawings in the game's style, also made with the help of AI. They aren't botanical photographs and shouldn't be used to identify plants. Videos and screenshots of the game are real recordings of the game.

Updates and corrections

Every article shows when it was published and last updated. When we find a mistake or a source changes its advice, we fix the article and update the date. For example, in September 2026 we corrected the pet toxicity table for six plants based on ASPCA articles and NC State Extension.

What you won't find here

The game and money

Rare Leaf Tycoon the game is free and has no ads. The only purchases are cosmetic looks (greenhouse themes, mascot outfits, journal frames) and an optional tip. None of them speed up the game. In our articles, we mention the game only in a short "In the game" section for plants that appear in it. The site has no ads or paid mentions.
